A classic American diner in Downtown Truckee, CA. Open 7am - 10pm EVERY day of the year. We offer family-friendly breakfast, lunch and dinner service and also serve beer & wine. On a beautiful Truckee day, dine with us on our outdoor patio where your leashed dog is also welcome to join you. We also offer private dining and catering services. "We care about the food, but what we really care about is the people,” says owner, Bud Haley.

Jax is open for carry out and it is well worth stopping by. I highly recommend the Reuben sandwich which has house made sauerkraut. Take the potato salad as side. I will drive the 80 miles to come back!

I liked the food and the service. Dinner feel to the place, literally right next to the tracks hence the name as we learned. We had burgers, a sandwich, a salad and drinks etc. The server was cool, attentive enough but not overbearing. Definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner (haven't had breakfast here yet)

I had a pretty fantastic experience here. The bloody mary was delicious and spicy. It two thick slices of bacon that were perfectly crunch and salty to compliment the drink. The chili cheese burger I had was perfectly filling. It was overall a good experience as I sat there perfectly content at the end of my meal.
